Hello world,
Hello world,

Hello world,

I am Icarus who loves the burn.

I am Sisyphus with a smile.

This universe holds my story, thinking, interests, work, art, and writing.

I don’t expect strangers to rummage through the depths of my soul but I made this in the hopes that my family, friends, mentors, and colleagues are able to take a peak behind the curtain.

I live a full life filled with challenges, burdens, and action but I do it all with kindness, intensity, positivity, and a smile.

I am a warrior, general, creative, and lover who tries his best to become the best version of himself through learning & reflection.

I work, write, and create mostly to reflect and grow from my lived experience of doing & trying with full effort.

I get up every day and I’m excited to get bloodied and battered by life. I’m excited about the hunt with my team. I’m excited by grand strategy, tactics, and the blood bath of self-conquest. I’m excited to learn & grow in chaotic environments.

I hope some of these thoughts can help someone else in the void. If not, these attempts at capturing thoughts will at least help me and, hopefully, my children.

I care more about effort, clear thinking, and process but actions & results matter almost equally to me. It’s how I know I’m improving. It’s the feedback loop to self-improvement.

I met my wife in 2017 and today in June of 2024, we’re expecting our first son, Damien, in 4 months. At 28 years old, It is the most beautiful dream I look forward to and surpasses any professional dreams and goals I began with as a 17 year old.

My wife, Dianne, made me into light - a kind and loving human being who’s able to receive and give radical love while remaining intense and obsessive. I’m still far from where I want to go but I credit everything to her love.

Life Update: January 2025

  1. Our son Damien is now 3 months old. Our small family of 3 has been living through a beautiful dream of quiet moments of peace, joy, and serenity. He’s absolutely perfect. He smiles a lot and is now beginning to laugh. Damien taught me that the phrase that a “parent’s love is unconditional” is true. I didn’t know I had more love to give but I keep loving more and more everyday.

  3. I’m thankful for the experience of remote work where can I focus on my work, learning, and most of all my family. The fight to protect this little light of ours continues. As much as I’ve always had a ‘provider’ mentality — that instinct, the drive to take care of and provide a great life for my little family went on overdrive the moment I held his little body in my arms.

  5. I’m constantly learning a lot from Damien. His experience of the world is ever present. He is literally experiencing now and only now — unburdened by past and future. His presence sucks me into the now. His smile teaches me to be here now every time I get lost in thought.
